Thanks Diana Avart for your comment. We have identified at least 3 areas in Pittsburgh we think this would be a good fit, but have yet to reach out to any community groups or get input on this (but open to begin discussions if anyone has comments/thoughts).
For our detailed proposal, should we recommend 1 specific area or list possible options with pros/cons of each that we would work with he City and key stakeholders to deliver when we advance?
Thanks Diana Avart ! We think this can revolutionize streetscape design and increasing safety. By allowing DOTs to have real-time control over the curbspace while collecting valuable data can improve traffic flow and help the transition to connected and autonomous vehicles and smart cities (whether that is 5 years or 25+ years away).
We look forward to the review of our idea and hopefully advancing towards a pilot project in Pittsburgh!
@Tom Bulten: Yes, that $75k would be for the local implementation and supplement our internal investment to bring this product to market. We also wanted to allow room in our ask that another winner could claim the other $25k. We look forward to the competition's review of our idea and will have an updated visualization video to our submission within the next few days.
