We need to fix our traffic lights!

I was sitting at a traffic light with no cars anywhere in sight for at least three minutes when I realized something needs to be done.

My idea is to fix our traffic lights and the cameras associated with these lights.

Describe who will use your solution (1,000 characters)

There have been multiple people who have sued the city over our traffic light problem and most of the cases I have looked into the people suing the city have won and this issue is costing our tax payers unnecessarily. One problem with these tickets over red light and speeding cameras is that people are not given the chance to correct their behavior before they are given numerous tickets, I'll explain: Imagine the speed limit on your way to work is changed by being lowered and it takes you a week to notice, that would result in seven tickets instead on the usual one ticket (and then most people learn their lesson after having to pay a fine) this is resulting in people receiving tickets that all together cost 500-800 dollars for one mistake. This system is severely flawed and I think it needs to be done away with. The proper testing was not done before these cameras were installed and now tax payers are paying the price. There are too many problems people are having with these machines.

Tell us about your team or organization (500 characters)

I have no team just an idea I am proposing to get rid of the horrendous traffic cameras placed all over the US. My reason for this idea is as follows; There have been multiple people who have sued the city over our traffic light problem and most of the cases I have looked into the people suing the city have won and this issue is costing our tax payers unnecessarily. People are being sent tickets in intervals of 5 to 7 at a time and are not being given a chance to learn and change their behavior.

Describe how you would pilot your idea (1000 characters)

My only idea is to get rid of traffic cams, all of them, to ensure that communities everywhere are treated fairly on the roads they frequent. My reason for doing so is as follows; There have been multiple people who have sued the city over our traffic light problem and most of the cases I have looked into the people suing the city have won and this issue is costing our tax payers unnecessarily. This system is severely flawed and I thin we all agree it needs to go.

Describe how you would measure the success of your pilot (1000 characters)

I think a test run should be set in motion so that we can survey what happens with a traffic camera installed and what happens with out a traffic camera installed, I think driving would continue the same way in both places and accident rates would also be the same. I also think that this study would prove that these traffic cameras are only put in place to make money off of hard working tax payers everywhere. I think that after this study was conducted there would be no choice other than to remove these traffic cameras and let the police do their job, that is one of the duties of the police is to make sure our road ways are safe from careless drivers and I for one think they do a great job at it.There is truly no need for these cameras to exist at all and I would wager a great deal that traffic might even move more smoothly without their presence and that the money generated would of course be of greater use if put back into the pockets of those scammed by these machines and high fees.

We need a smart, more connected traffic city! Miami, one of the most popular cities in the world and NOTHING!
