Safe Transportation in an Urban Environment

Enable a safer urban transportation for drivers ,commuters and pedestrians

General comment- The solution addrsses some of the challenges as grouped under the other "opportunity areas" . As such we have selected the " other " opprtunity area option

The main purpose of our solution is to contribute to the Vizion Zero initiative ,providing with the ( direct and indirect ) means to enhance the safety of urban transportation 

The Topology:

Client ( Application ) - Server ( Distributed Cloud ) 

The solution makes use of  Dell GW compute resources ,functions as an MEC -Mobile Edge Computer  ,to run our propriatary ,  real-time and  location C-I2V/V2I based Area Mobility Manager 

The MEC communicates with the cars over ATT based 4G network ( and 5G upon availablity ), to achieve reliable mobile communication with short response time

The Server Side makes use of MS Azure hosting as well as Real-time analytics tools 

The  client - Ford Driver Personalized Application , runs on any mobile device as well as the car infotainment system

The Flow :

The solution collects data from various sources , e.g. city's sensors and devices ,311 and 511

It then runs AI / ML on it and shares theintelligent data, with the driver via the App

Addessing the Challenges :

The solution addresses the urban transportation safety challenge in the following ways 

1. Safe Driving - All driver's interaction with the app is done via voice commands as well as steering wheel buttons . This eliminates driving distruction by using the app

2. Safe Mobility ,Driving aspect- The system provides the driver with complentary ADAS ( out of in-car devices line of sight ) info- Pedestrian on crosswalk, huzards etc . This helps reducing the amount of car accidents and eliminate casualties ( Vison Zero )

3.Safe Mobility , City aspect - The system provides the Driver with info as to using alternative mobility means via Park and Shared ride / car. This helps decreasing traffic loads and as a resulrt ,reduce the amont of car accidents and cassualties ( Vision Zero )

The App is offered as a B2B2C solution / Service It can be offered by Miami-Dade , Car OEM,or CSP ( Communications Service provider ) The end users are the citizens and vistors driving in the City

Our plan is to have a dedicated engineer to customize the solution ( integrate with Miami-Dade data ) . This engineer will be backed by our R&D SW engineering team The core technology has been developed on the course of the last 5 years and as such, very soon after the successful testing ,wecwill be ready for deployment . We see ourselves as a member of the ecosystem ,combined of Ford,ATT,MS and Dell . As such ,our plan is to sell our solution to the City ,adding value to the above mentioned ecosystem partners

Describe how you would measure the success of your pilot (1000 characters)

The success will be measured as follows : Engineering - successfully connect to the various sources of info ( city data, sendors , public data ) and utilize them to be shared with the driver in a timely manner Users' feed-back - get a feedback from drivers participating / being part of the testing group ( e.g. city employees , Ford car owners etc ). Addressing their comments and tune the app accordingly
