Phase 2 of our plan is to lower the traffic levels is to use indoor farming throughout out the city.

    Phase 2 helps to lower traffic levels because dozens of trucks drive from farms hundreds of miles away to our city in order to bring us food. By renting warehouses in various zones throughout Miami and mixing phase 1 and 2, we will be able to provide a wide assortment of fresh vegetables that will be delivered in a fast and reliable way.

Are brought from other cities therefore bringing a lot of traffic to ours. By growing this plants in OUR city it can bring down traffic and lower the cost of this plants.

Our plan is to partner with brands such has Publix, Sedanos and Wholes Foods in order to bring our food to a thousands of people in the Miami County. Also we are working towards building our own app, which essentially will cut the middle man and sell directly to YOU.

Our plan to sustain our business AND to support our growth, is to expand to other cities, Tampa and Orlando, which will bring many new clients. And as we said, we are going to partner with various brands and maker our food more mainstream for everyone.

We will measure the success of our pilot in three different ways. 1) Customer Satisfaction. 2) Monthly Growth. 3)Expansion opportunities.

How does increasing indoor farming reduce traffic? If most traffic is caused by (1) people going to and from work, (2) people going to and from schools and (3) people going to and from errands... farming would have no bearing on any of those.

But it does. People go to the supermarkets in order to buy their groceries. If we can build indoor farms in the city AND deliver the food to YOU through our network of drones, it WILL reduce traffic. Also there are dozens of trucks that delivery those vegetables., so it can reduce traffic like that also

Mateo, it doesn't seem realistic to me.

My research showed that in Miami-Dade alone there are between 9 and 10 million trips per day. Per day. That was NTHS data from 2009 projected by them 2017 population). I would posit that the vast majority of these trips are to work (back & forth), to school, then working people needing to travel. I would question how many of these are "supermarket-only" trips.

A second research I did for Pollo Tropical showed that many people do not have the traditional sit-down meals any more, but stop in Fast Food and QSR places to eat, thus, no supermarket trips.

A third research I did for client (Healthy Tribe Food Drink) showed a large amount of people already ordering take in... to the office! Again, so supermarket-only trips.

A second point is farming land. Where, exactly, would you place your farms? There is just no room in a city. Also, land in choice places is expensive, so the farm is just not viable. Just to put it perspective, a 24,000 sq.ft. lot down the block from me (at Cuomo and Maggiore) sold for $1.2 million. The land alone. So a farm would not be realistic or economic feasible.

A third point to consider in following with your local farm idea is that vegetables (and especially locally-sourced ones) are a minuscule part of the household diet. You still need a place to buy cereals, coke, ice cream.

A fourth point is that supermarkets generate tons of employment in the city. Albeit lower-income employment, but employment nevertheless. So your proposal would eliminate thousands of jobs (mine creates thousands, by the way)

A fifth point is that home grocery delivery has not been outrageously successful. Amazon does really well on the stuff that doesn't need to be fresh or tasted, but it's grocery business has not taken off.

All in all, I don't see this as viable either financially, societally or in traffic reduction.

1. As you said, there are 9 to 10 million trips in Miami. Per Day. Even if only 10% of those trips are “supermarket-only” that’s still 900k to 1 million people DAILY.
2. We will rent warehouses, of course that is not financially viable to buy land in the middle of the city. The average price of rent (per square foot) of a warehouse in Miami is around to 3$ to 5$ per month so it’s 100% financial viable.
3. We of course know that vegetables are a minuscule part of the household diet, that’s why in the drone articule we said that we also want to send groceries such has water, milk and small stuff like that, saving people hours.
4. We DO NOT want to eliminate jobs, we want to allied ourselves with supermarkets, so we can provide services to their clients.
5. Is true that Amazon’s grocery service has not taken off. Even when they bought WholesFood, but as I said we we want to partner with supermarkets, especially supermarkets like Publix and Sedanos.
-Also we want to stay small for now and make many warehouses throughout the entire city so we can give our clients fresh food.
