Our bus stops need a make over!

Now, this is just an idea so I am not requesting funding and some of my answers may not be long winded but this issue needs to be addressed.

My idea is to not only to "decorate" bus stops in Florida completely but to most importantly make them larger, our bus stops are so crowded and nothing is being done about it!

Describe who will use your solution (1,000 characters)

Florida has recently tried to "re vamp" bus stops in my area but I would consider that action to have been a waste of money. They have done nothing really except paint the existing bus stop which yes, looks a little nicer but it does nothing for anyone. These bus stops need to be bigger especially if we are creating initiative for people to ride on our buses. Why are we trying to pour people into seats that can only fit up to four people? I think the most important part of this undertaking would be making it larger, maybe adding a row seating system or even buying large areas to create a space that people are not crammed into like the current system available. I may be biased because I have a green thumb, but I think some plant life would certainly add to this new space I have an idea for. I also think a small play area for children, would be great. I feel that a deterrent for people form using are buses is the fact that our bus system makes people feel like cattle crammed together.

I have no team, just a simple idea I would like to get out there. I am not asking to be chosen or looking for money. I only ask that my idea be taken into consideration. Describe how you would pilot your idea (1000 characters)

"Your idea must have a plan to make money" Why does my plan have to make money?! Don't people pay taxes for necessary amenities like roads and bus stops? My idea is as follows, Florida has recently tried to "re vamp" bus stops in my area but I would consider that action to have been a waste of money. They have done nothing really except paint the existing bus stop which yes, looks a little nicer but it does nothing for anyone. These bus stops need to be bigger especially if we are creating an initiative for people to ride on our buses. Why are we trying to pour people into seats that can only fit up to four people? Describe how you would measure the success of your pilot (1000 characters)

I would create a community much like the City of Tomorrow to ask people how they like my new bus stops, but I can see no issue in making bus stop larger. I think my idea to add plant life to bus stops would be met with applause from people with green thumbs everywhere and it would be a really fun idea to have my community vote for which plants they would like to see at their bus stop. I think adding native plants to bus stops would be a great way to show tourists which species are native to Florida and we could even have placards that tell about the plants. The same goes for my idea of adding a small children's play place, we could have parents ask their children what would add to their local bus stops and do a vote on what type of area we should add for children to utilize when they are waiting for the bus along with their parents. So in order to make everyone happy I think voting on these different options is key, I also think communities like this one are a wonderful idea as well.

Hey Leah Perks ! Remember this is not a public initiative, it is a private initiative, so we are trying to have a sustainable model so it can be run and implemented in the long run! Thanks for sharing!
