New modes of transportation have evolved to make traveling easier, but require too many separated applications for users to access seamless service.

By matching scheduling and vehicle routes efficiently, Miami Dade County staff can create work carpools, utilize city and municipal vehicles to make their commutes easier and work more efficient.

Describe who will use your solution (1,000 characters)

Our ideal user profile is a City of Miami employe. Our solution impacts in multiple ways that reverberate throughout the community they serve. Various workers including police, park rangers and clerks will make their commutes easier and save more money for them selves. Benefits include a reduction in traffic congestion and an increase in personal finances; eliminating vehicle maintenance, insurance, gas or parking fees. The goal is for citizens to see the cost saving realized through better services and inspire civic pride. Encouraging their decision to chose public transportation by showing them an efficient use of their tax dollars. Ultimately our solution is looking to reach the entire population of Miami. We are starting first by focusing specifically on the city employees/workers that help to make the city run smoothly. In bringing greater efficiency to the EMT's, teachers and sanitation workers we will be able to positively impact a greater amount of lives with in Miami.

Describe how you would pilot your idea (1000 characters)

Our platform will tap into the current systems used by the city for planning and resource deployment. Starting with organizations that are first tied to service, transportation and safety we will take use cases that show both efficacy and speed up scheduling and transportation. The funding will allow us to customize and connect to the system currently used by the city so that we can be integrated into the real time data streams. We will connect to the multiple modes of transportation available within the city and provide accurate and real time travel scheduling for city employees. Our KPI’s will involve the on-time efficiency of both vehicles and the staff themselves. The goal is to reduce tardy workers and utilize more current city resources creating a multiplier effect of better staffing and a better vehicle fleet use. Demonstrating success is the City of Miami utilizing their own services for cost savings, it will resonate with the citizens and business's to then use it.

Describe how you would measure the success of your pilot (1000 characters)

Our KPI’s will involve the on-time efficiency of both vehicles and the staff themselves. A reduction in tardy workers and increased utilization of current city transportation resources creating a multiplier effect of better staffing and service. Our success is measured in the increased ridership and reduce lost time of staffing and vehicle assets. Success for us centers around enabling multiple modes of transportation being connected and utilized in larger proportions. In order to show the successful use of the system for city workers we want to show increased ridership (Metrorail, Metromover, Metrobus, Paratransit, Tri-Rail, etc.) as well as reduce cost for the city. The City will have the ability to diversify its transportation profiles by connecting third party services like Brightline, Taxis, CityBike, etc. Our ultimate goal for the platform involves deploying a seamless multi-modal transportation system within the city by connecting all of their assets, staff and resources.
