BUSSI is the first platform of Vanpool (shared vans) in Mexico and today it is evolving towards being a Mass transport platform, this transformation will allow us to offer the service of dynamic (intelligent) route with a qualified driver, fixed boarding points, sharing the trips through different capacity vehicles(HCV) from 2 to 55 seats. BUSSI offers to the people who suffer the insecurity and the lack of the public transportation, safety, efficiently a comfort in their commute all with affordable price. Using data points from customers BUSSI create crowdsourced routes with a standard in service and quality, but everything is around a community that shares the commute, this is the first step for a smart collective transport


Bussi as well has built and  API ready to connect with other mobility services like public transportation. Ticket sellers and other mobility providers (bikes, scooters).


The idea is to implement a 2 month Pilot with the help of Ford and Miami Dade. The pilot is commute with the data information from Miami Dade open portal and interviews to identify commercial districts, commuter areas, rush hours and commuter behaviors. Once we identify the best area to start the pilot, the next step is create route with different capacities vehicles that works everyday and communicate suburb areas with commercial districts and complement the actual public transportation system.

The mobility pilot is commuter focused first due to the car ownership of 2 cars per household the increase in commuting time (in comparison with other American cities) and the 76.2% of commuters who drive alone according to Datausa.io (https://datausa.io/profile/geo/miami-dade-county-fl/). Focusing in commuters First has a 3 side effect First: the commuter will decide what to do during the commute time if sleep, read or start working not just stresful driving. Companies and employers will benefit with a less stressed employee and increase in productivity also will be able to track or admin their employers commute. The city and government will benefit from monitoring how much they contribute reducing Cars and CO2 emissions and how much will it be the potential impact if the solution is scaled and complemented with other mobility services.

www.bussi.com.mx We are a team of 15, and 3 engineer founders. Engineer founders let us work pretty close to the core technology while growing and at the same time use it in things like Marketing, process, Business development. We meet 4 years ago at “Innovation and Technology Center from America Movil”(CTIN), we have been working in Bussi for almost 3 years. we reached milestones like winning the Ford Mobility Challenge in 2016, Partner with World Resources Institute and Shell Foundation UK

Describe how you would pilot your idea (1000 characters)

In Bussi we find and tested a process to replicate landing routes by city or geographical area. 1.- Researching stage: (8K USD) using resources that already exist like datausa.io miamidade.gov arcgis data. We look for commute behaviors, already mobility infrastructure and mobility options. commercial districts and suburb areas detection. Market trials to known desirable routes, intention, end user interviews. 2.-Calculated vehicle capacity so we can start with little cars. (2K USD) 3.- Deploying stage: (40K USD) Best routes will be traced and submitted in the platform, presale ticket campaign will start (similar to crowdfunding routes). At the same time Operations team will prepare vehicules(Ford support is expected), Government deals and permissions, Drivers recruitment and standardization. 4.- Pilot stage. (50K USD) where Pilot really occurs, is expected from 1 month and half to 2 months and half. Routes will run in rush hours. Mkt team will promote routes digital and offline.

Describe how you would measure the success of your pilot (1000 characters)

The main metric or KPI is a Trip. A single trip made by users. In Pilot it's expected to have a 75% of vehicle occupancy during pilot. if using 14 Van Vehicle (10 seats) if using 18 Van Vehicle (13 seats). Users will receive a free round trip (1 commute to try the service). Users are able to refer through personal coupon codes which gives a total of 4 single trips (2 for referral and 2 for the one referring). Due to commute free rides and referrals we will see more trips than payments during pilot that it's a completely normal during adoption. Other metrics will be trip reservation in advance and payment per week, 2 weeks or complete month. These metric shows how important is the route in the designated area. In users we will be interested in metrics like frequency, where we will find daily users (our main goal), 2 to 3 commute trip a week regular users, 1 trip per week and 1 trip per month users. Last metrics churned users, Lifetime Value and referral coefficient.

The city should create bicycle trails on the highway. Example: if they were to take 1 lane from I-95 north and 1 from south, they will be able to make a bicycle trail in the middle of the highway. By building 5 foot tall concrete barrier with plastic glass ontop of the barrier, protecting cyclists from motorists and any flying debris. And at each existing exit, making a stairway to allow cyclists to safely get On and Off under the bridge and back on the highway. The same can be done for all major highways. This will motivate people to cosider cycling as a much faster way of transportation at high peak hours. Especially from Golden Glades to Downtown Miami on I-95.

Building wider roads is clearly not the solution for our traffic congestion, it's only getting worst. Building safe bike trails will encourage people to commute on a bicycles. Having less cars on the road and less pollution. Distance is not the problem, safety is the biggest concern.
