Waycare is shaping the future of urban mobility and optimizing city traffic management by harnessing in-vehicle information for predictive insights. Ultimately, Waycare enables cities to take full control of their roads and directly communicate with all vehicles operating in their road networks.

Waycare’s platform leverages vast amounts of data from both internal road sources such as sensors, cameras, as well as external vehicle and ecosystem data such as navigation solutions, telematics data, and more. Waycare harnesses machine learning technologies to synthesize all data sets and provide actionable insights to improve incident traffic management and traffic safety operations. 

Additionally, Waycare’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions provide forward-looking insights of alerts to identify near-term dangerous roads which in turn empower proactive traffic safety measures. Notably, Waycare’s cloud solution enables all relevant agencies to join the platform, providing incremental value to Miami Dade and other public agencies and unlocking the potential for actionable cross-collaboration between agencies to impact incident management and traffic flow optimization positively.

As more connected vehicles and autonomous vehicles hit the roads, traffic management operations will need to have the adequate infrastructure to accommodate this disruptive technology. Waycare is building the foundation for the future of traffic management and helping cities take control of their roads to improve traffic safety and operations.

Describe how you would pilot your idea (1000 characters)

Waycare would deploy a six-month pilot following an approximate 3-month onboarding process which would include on-site training and support for all operators. Towards the end of the pilot, all parties involved will review and evaluate the solution's impact on improving traffic safety in the selected corridors. The evaluation and report will be based on the project targets defined herein and from there the option to move into a contract will be available. Our goal is to demonstrate the value and benefits of our solution throughout the pilot and by the end have scoped out a contract for our SaaS solution which is based on an annual subscription. The cost of the platform depends on the scope and services, however, is minimal and offsets the cost of large infrastructural projects and maintenance. Waycare has conducted multiple success pilots across the US including multiple in Flordia in partnership with FDOT (Sunguide) which makes Miami an ideal city for such a project.

Describe how you would measure the success of your pilot (1000 characters)

Project Success Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) (Project metrics 3-month on FHWA SHRP-2 -Traffic Incident Management performance measures: -Roadway Clearance Times -Incident Clearance Times -Secondary Incident Identification and Reduction -Increase number of incidents identified and improve incident identification time -Showcase feasibility of using predictive analytics for traffic crash detection and ultimately enable proactive preventative measures (i.e.deploy traffic calming, proactive VMS warnings, etc.) -Showcase feasibility of using predictive analytics for traffic crash detection and ultimately enable proactive preventative measures (i.e. traffic calming, proactive VMS warnings, etc.) -Showcase impact of streamlined communication between emergency services to improve traffic safety and traffic incident management. -Generate regular and relevant reporting in order to increase the visibility of performance from both a traffic safety and traffic flow perspective
