Expansion of the metrorail service

Expanding the current metrorail service to the southernmost cities of Miami Dade County would help reduce current traffic on US-1

Full description

It is a current imperative to expand the current metrorail system to areas further south, specifically to the cities of Homestead and Florida City. These cities are experiencing a demographic growth due to the fact that the real estate costs are lower than the rest of the city. To expand this metrorail could be designed a transport system by rails at ground level (not elevated), which could be financed from the issuance of bonds plus part of the half-cent tax funds.

Thanks, Latino Tax Education Centre! Interesting information on the demographics happening. What are the current choices for this journey? What is the travel experience like?

moving from downtown miami to the city of homestead during peak hours, I could take more than 90 min of road trip (US-1), it is terrible and stressful

Thanks, yes, there's a lot of stress expressed in this city group of the project, and it's only been open less than a day. It's good to share the stress here. That's what this 'explore' phase is all about.
