Smart cross intersections.

Use small camera poles to help teach people how to drive more courteously and respectfully.

My idea is to use a smaller Pole type design with a camera mounted inside the top of it. And a red and green light with sensors on the corresponding parts of the road that are being affected. This would allow places like one lane highways to not get backed up by people trying to rush past and practically running into the back of you. It would see the vehicle looking to make a turn and would change the signal for the person coming the opposite way to stop for one moment and that the person make the turn. This simple courtesy what do you lie about accidents to be reduced from people using unnecessary road rage!

Describe who will use your solution (1,000 characters)

This will be able to guide new, current, an seasoned drivers. To give the person the right to make a turn. And would relay that new road efficiency, to the traffic light systems. Have a sigh entering smart intersection areas. Those that disregard rhe system will get ticketed automatically. Unless they can prove there wheels went flat of an actual reason why they didn't obey the DMV state laws. This would also teach younger driver's the way to properly drive without having an AI present in the car.

Describe your solution's stage of development

  • Initial Design - you are still exploring the idea and have not tested it with users

Tell us about your team or organization (500 characters)

Right now i am only teamed with one other person on a project. However this thought was mine.

Size of your team or organization

  • I am submitting as an individual

Funding Request

  • $100,000

Rough Budget (500 characters)

Primary key would get leg braces. And make a a HRC for myself $1000 or less. Then i would get the materials to have make the the traffic identitng, guidance systems. 10,000

Describe how you would pilot your idea (1000 characters)

I would call and get fellow drivers to sign a petition for better driving areas. We would place the units in one lane roads to show its effectiveness. And speak with the DMV and police offices, showing them the systems and formally ask for a partnership with them.

Describe how you would measure the success of your pilot (1000 characters)

The success would be measured over each month. Showing those drivers that may need to retake their DMV privaleges test. An it will also help in removing illegal driving and assist the community by a more fluid flow of traffic.

Sustainability Plan (500 characters)

The unused funds would be put in a saving, that would be used to create more. These would allow our stress to decrease, or people to be protected more. As well as getting people that are using a care careless to be retested.

Hey Robert P Tweed this is MaCie' one of the online facilitators here! Welcome back to the challenge! Super cool idea! Do you think this system would result in drivers taking advantage of the system, and pushing through lights they wouldn't have otherwise took?

As long as they where not becoming an obstruction to the other intersections. I could see this cutting some travel time off yes. And allowing them get to their appointments/work/delivery etc quicker. By giving a smart suggestion based on current traffic and the rules of the road. But we do have traffic cameras. Those that would try to use it wrong would have the privaleges taken away by the Police. With this additional system link to help them.
