I want to make a Hydrogen conversion kit for ICE vehicles

By me making this kit with your help we can make an affordable solution to using existing ICE vehicles to meet our zero emission goal.

This will be a great solution for low income people by not having to buy an expensive BEV or fuel cell vehicle to get a zero emission vehicle. We can get government incentives that would make it affordable to put the kit in your ICE car. Why buy a new car when you dont need one when you can just modify it to run on hydrogen. To start off, we can sell the kit in areas that have hydrogen fueling stations like Cali, and Europe for example. Once it becomes a success then companies like Shell, Bp, and Nel Hydrogen will have to make more stations because of supply and demand. This will cause the hydrogen infrastructure to expand on a grand level. Then, the cost for fuel cell vehicles will also drop in price because of this domino effect. The hydrogen will be made from solar and wind which is called green hydrogen. I know it will possible because Ford made a hydrogen V10 Bus before. Let's make diesel and gasoline obsolete, but let's keep the internal combustion engine alive with the power of green hydrogen. I also made a hydrogen infrastructure bill that I want to be made law some day but I don't want to send it because I haven't copy righted it yet. I wrote it in my journal the bill. The bill explains how it could get a green hydrogen infrastructure in affordable way for the state or country that wants it .

Describe who will use your solution (1,000 characters)

Any person that has a ICE vehicle. Most people also buy used cars that have a ICE too. Most cars on the road have an ICE. If they ban the ICE vehicle so many low income people will be left without transportation. Yes electric cars will get cheaper but not cheap enough. This kit will be the best option financially for everyone because you get to keep your car. Used electric and new electric cars are at 30k to 40k price range which is still really expensive.

Describe your solution's stage of development

  • Initial Design - you are still exploring the idea and have not tested it with users

Insights from previous testing (500 characters)

Teachers, friends and family told me to pursue in the idea. They said they like the idea that you'll be saving the environment by also it being affordable too.

Tell us about your team or organization (500 characters)

Triton college to maybe IIT. Get a team there at IIT.

Size of your team or organization

  • I am submitting as an individual

Funding Request

  • $100,000

Rough Budget (500 characters)

Get a team at IIT. First design the kit. Next build the prototype kit. After that I'll put the kit into my car that I'll be donating to IIT .Test the kit on V4, V6, V8 engines and incline 4 and 6 engines as well if the kit on my car is a success.

Describe how you would pilot your idea (1000 characters)

I'll make the kit when I transfer to IIT in fall of 2020. I'll get team to help me to make the kit. I will donate my 5 speed manual 2001 Ford escort zx2 to IIT to make the kit run on it. I'll not need the car because I'll be dorming there.

Describe how you would measure the success of your pilot (1000 characters)

I'm in a engineering program at Triton college. I'm trying to find the best engineering University for me. Once the kit is successful in places that already have hydrogen fueling stations like Cali, Europe and Asia then places that don't have hydrogen infrastructure like the city of Indianapolis would see that they could save the environment by funding a hydrogen infrastructure and save people a lot of money with this kit that would rapidly expand the infrastructure even further.

Sustainability Plan (500 characters)

A lot of people don't want to give up their cars because it cost too much to buy a new zero emission car so by making this kit affordable people will just buy this instead of a brand new car. So many people will buy it because of that and will be happy too because it will help their wallet out and will make them feel proud that their car is zero emission now. Government incentives will make it affordable. There are 1 billion cars in the world and most of that are ICE.

Hello Mario, I'm very interested, but how safe is a hydrogen compared to gas or electric fueled vehicles and how much will it cost me right now to convert a 2016 Ford Fusion today? What's the milage per tank? Will hydrogen go faster than gas? I know I asked you a lot, but I'm very interested.
