Any vehicle can become a hybrid vehicle (internal combustion-electric) if we replace the rear wheels. Thanks to the metallic asphalt H.E.R.A., it is possible to power these electric wheels with hexagonal modules on the road during motion in urban centers.

Getting around by car in urban centers is one of the least comfortable for various reasons: traffic, bad asphalt conditions, high environmental and noise pollution etc. All vehicles need to carry on board their fuel (tank, cylinder, batteries) wasting a part of the total stored energy during motion. The presently used internal combustion engines use more fuel at the lower gears, making urban circulation the most expensive energetically. All these problems pushed me to find a solution easily adaptable for all types of roads and for any vehicle. Consequently, I developed H.E.R.A, a completely new road concept.

H.E.R.A. is an electrically powered metallic modular road surface that is able to reduce pollution in urban centers by 90%, noise pollution by 70%, asphalt maintenance by 98% and it converts all vehicles in hybrid vehicles (internal combustion-electric), eliminating batteries on board for good. H.E.R.A. is made exclusively from recycled materials and it is compatible with all road types. When temperature drops below 0° C, an heating system gets activated to melt snow and ice. If it rains, water does not accumulate, it passes through the grids and the draining edges. Road safety increases by 30% as H.E.R.A. can turn off or limit the power supply nearby pedestrian crossings, schools and playgrounds.

H.E.R.A. is made exclusively from recycled materials and it is compatible with all road types. Hexagons are realized by iron materials from scrapped cars, while insulating materials are from old tires. Compared to other solutions, H.e.r.a. encloses in one concept all solutions to urban problems.

If this is used, what portion of the vehicles weight will be compensated? I think you would need to have a H.E.R.A. vehicle. Otherwise what about on something like an 18Wheeler how would it be able to move something so heavy?

Hi Robert P Tweed! Thank you for your interest about our project! Each hexagonal module, can support 100 tons; therefore it can support all types of vehicles. The power taken from the modules depends on the type of vehicle, so everyone can reach 50 km / h.

Ok so if i calculated right a 1.76miles of road would run above 300,000 USD?
Thats only about a 7 min worth of driving here in NJ. Please correct my calculations if off. An one other thought, if i may is what insentive would a USA Citizen have to have the scrap iron they may have to be used for this?

Draining asphalt costs about $ 20 per square meter with its holes, frequent maintenance, low safety, high temperatures. Your calculations are right but are you sure you have read what the project does?

Yes i have, as an educated designer of sorts. That seems like more spending. Rather than a reduction in vehicle weight and aerodynamics

Enfact, thanks to H.e.r.a. , electric vehicles don't need to carry the batteries on board with a consequent improvement in consumption. You can't talk about cost because it's not comparable to asphalt.
