Winter snows are a regularly occurring reality in Grand Rapids. Navigating snowy sidewalks on foot is a challenge for most pedestrians, even more so for those who have impaired mobility. To make walking more accessible and enjoyable, the City (or an existing business with whom they can contract) should try plowing sidewalks along major streets for a winter season to determine the impact this service provides for residents of and visitors to Grand Rapids.

Describe who will use your solution (1,000 characters)

Residents of and visitors to Grand Rapids would walk on the cleared sidewalks, enjoying the elimination of obstacles like snow packed tightly on street corners.

Describe your solution's stage of development

  • Initial Design - you are still exploring the idea and have not tested it with users

Tell us about your team or organization (500 characters)

This project would best be housed at the City or with an existing snow removal business with which they can contract.

Very good point to remember, or if that plowing service wishes they could use one of my designs to strategicly clear the sidewalk. While providing employment to the sidewalk plows. And on the street snow plows on each side attach a set of 3 strong rollers that would keep the snow from being forced onto the curb. By mantaining a clean and clear removal As well as a set of 7 roller guides on the bottom of the bucket to eleminate tearing up the road.
