We want to see fewer headlines like this (https://www.woodtv.com/news/grand-rapids/uber-denied-w-mi-wheelchair-user-refused-service/1324194851) and more smiling, independent faces cruising around Grand Rapids enjoying the sights, smells, and sounds of our amazingly vibrant city!

With the click of a button or wave of a hand, anyone will be able to find a safe, fun ride downtown Grand Rapids!

Staring at a folded ramp and boring gray metal interior is not the view you should have to deal with just because you are in a wheelchair. We want you to look up through the glass roof and see how tall the buildings are as you ride around, enjoy the architecture of the City and hear, see, and smell everything the City has to offer!

Our main inspiration has been from organizations like Lori's Voice and people like Lylah Gritter.

Describe who will use your solution (1,000 characters)

This service will not only allow our users to easily move around the downtown arena district but it will allow a reasonable resolution for the first mile/last mile problem for many residents. There will also be an additional component to this which will offer custom advertising solutions in a downtown market that does not currently allow advertising or billboards anywhere in the core of downtown. Our advertisers will love our ability to provide high visibility and INTERACTIVE ADS with tourists and locals alike while they bounce around downtown Grand Rapids. We will offer the unique ability to not only be the billboard showing them a new product but we will have the ability to get a sample of that product directly into the consumer's hands seconds after seeing the ad.

Describe your solution's stage of development

  • Initial Design - you are still exploring the idea and have not tested it with users

Tell us about your team or organization (500 characters)

This is a solo act as of now but I look forward to bringing on a few good people that have experience with on-demand apps, social media, transportation, and advertising.

Size of your team or organization

  • 2-10

Funding Request

  • $100,000

Describe how you would pilot your idea (1000 characters)

Initial purchase of 4-6 vehicles along with retrofitting to make them handicap accessible and securing garage/office space to charge/maintain vehicles.

Describe how you would measure the success of your pilot (1000 characters)

1. Usage - Are people using the service? 2. Profitability - Are people paying for the service? Are companies advertising? 3. FUN - Are people having FUN while using this service?

Yes our thoughts are similar, but the design doesn't have a fun look. I've worked in graphic arts architecture design. So I would love to collaborate thoughts. If you would be willing to hear my thoughts?

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the question & comment!

I think whether they are "fun" looking or not is a little subjective. We have had SO many people tell us how cute and fun they look/are.

That said, it doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement. We are ALWAYS open to new and fun ideas! Let us know what you are thinking!
