Airspace Experience Technologies is a Detroit eVTOL development company with several patent pending 2-phase eVTOLs designs that can move dinner for two, or scaled up to fly 1,100 lbs of cargo or passengers at 150 Mph for the price of a ride.  MCS represents a multilayer mobility "cake," and the Revolution happening in Urban Air Mobility will be another layer to the MCS "cake."  

A generational opportunity exists for ASX to employ our industrial base, skilled labor and intelligence community to lead the World in urban and regional air mobility.  While there are many designs proposed to do the job of urban and regional air mobility, very few utilize demonstrated VTOL technologies that are proven safe with a certification path using existing regulatory frameworks.  

The MCS Impact Area represents a key opportunity for to develop a "SkyPort," deploy C2V2X infrastructure to organize, sequence and separate  parcel and passenger eVTOLs traffic arriving and departing MCS. 

How will your solution benefit residents, workers, or visitors in the Michigan Central Station impact area? (1,000 characters)

MOBi-One will improve mobility and the quality of life for residents, workers, and visitors by transporting them to and from the Michigan Central Station Impact Area 5x faster than driving for the price of ride share using a proven VTOL aircraft design. Our eco-friendly, quiet and connected “electric vertical takeoff and landing” (eVTOL) aircraft leverages the perfect fusion of proven automotive grade innovations and commercial aviation technology and standards. Imagine sharing a ride to MCS from Ann Arbor in 7-8 minutes giving YOU more TIME to do..anything because you can skip traffic - emission free. We have modeled and configured a Turbo-Generated Hybrid for jobs that require ranges greater than 300 miles to get people to and from Northern Michigan for the weekend. Our plan is to begin with unmanned cargo to validate and certify the the full scale system architecture as safe for passenger mobility.

Choose our Contribution and funding request, and we will match you $250,000 in cash. 50% of the funds will be used to refine and automate flight control firmware and develop model based simulations. ($250K) 50% of funding will be applied to building up to 3 prototype aircraft complete with 802.11p C2 for Flight Testing, safety messaging, and validation of Model Based Simulations. ($250K)

Describe how you would pilot your idea (1000 characters)

Automate vertical take off, transition to cruise flight, in-bound transition to landing without human intervention. Not only will this pilot allow us to develop the autonomy and detailed control systems, but it will allow us to demonstrate the scalability of our product to transport other payloads like EO sensors, food or small parcels within the Impact Area. Using the funds provided with our matching funds, our engineers will rapidly prototype hardware and software at our facility in Detroit innovation lab. Our 250 acre test facility at Detroit City Airport will enable us to test and validate vehicles and systems prior to pilot testing in the Impact Area. The pilot vehicles will be less than 55 lb, and will be remotely operated by our Flight Operations Team. We have an MOU with a Detroit Logistics firm, a Term Sheet with a large transportation company, and MCS represents a perfect opportunity demonstrate our capabilities to secure future contracts.

Describe how you would measure the success of your pilot (1000 characters)

Tilt-Wing Aircraft are the highest performance approach to 2-Phase VTOL operations. Automation of the flight control system for stability and control during all phases of flight is the key measurable. Vertical take-off, transition to cruise flight, and in-bound transition to land, in gusty conditions, without human intervention is a complex task which can be solved using Simulations and Automation. A key measurable to the main objective is detailed 3D modeling of every component and system utilizing MatLab SimuLink. Another key measurable is the production and flight testing of physical air vehicles to validate simulations. Making changes in simulated environments with the hardware in the loop drastically reduces development time, expense and risk to people or property on the ground and in the air during flight operations.

Sustainability Plan (500 characters)

We are actively working to close major partnerships with leaders in commercial aircraft production to build and certify our vehicles in Detroit. These partnerships will reduce risk and attract capital and talent. With the firmware and simulations validated, ASX will be in a key position to execute a Term Sheet for the full size vehicle production. Additionally, a parallel opportunity is at hand to build and operate <55 lb. aircraft for small parcel delivery is gaining traction.

Thanks for your submission Jon Rimanelli . Thoughts about turning your proposal into something more for the public sector? The budget laid out shows that the money will be used directly in prototyping and testing, but there is nothing in terms of actual use and cost for people.
