MUVE has a suite of technology products centered around transportation including a range of products from dispatch software, Driver and Rider Apps, and a web portal for booking transportation. MUVE brings every aspect of transportation together, into one program to include transit, private cabs, non-emergent medical transportation, veterans and more. Muve will integrate and compliment the existing transportation infrastructure in Detroit with a strong focus on serving those with accessibility needs. MUVE's universal design enhances transportation in every way. 

MUVE will implement a kiosk at Michigan Central Station linked directly to MUVE's customized Detroit transportation technology platform. From here, visitors, workers and residents can request on-demand transportation with MUVE's Michigan Central Station dedicated accessible vehicles or with one of MUVE's local transportation partners.

MUVE Drivers will be pre-screened, PASS trained for accessibility and CHAMPS certified through the state of Michigan. Drivers will pass a 7 year criminal and motor vehicle history. Drivers and vehicles will be required to stay within a 35 mile radius of Michigan Central Station at all times to accommodate public need for transportation from the facility. 

Vehicles will be commercially insured and contracted for Non-emergent medical transportation to generate additional revenue; limited to a 35 mile radius of Michigan Central Station to accommodate timely private availability. 

Vehicles will have the ability to be utilized 24 hours per day via the Kiosk at Michigan Central Station or MUVE app on smartphones. Transportation booked via the MUVE app will provide additional financial sustainability for continuity after the initial funding and 100% sustainability with outside contracts.   

MUVE will donate 30% of it's revenue from private party bookings to a fund dedicated to provide transportation for those with unmet needs. 

How will your solution benefit residents, workers, or visitors in the Michigan Central Station impact area? (1,000 characters)

Workers, visitors, and residents will be able to deploy MUVE vehicle(s) for 24-hour personal transportation with door to door "white glove" service. Our focus is on community, integrating with small business, non profit/charities, as well as corporate entities to offer social re-integration avenues through innovative initiatives & programs for people of all abilities. Contract transportation will also be allowed for clients that secure funding through the State of Michigan. For example, Logisticare, Molina, Meridian, McLaren and MTM have shown interest in utilizing this service and would realize significant discounts by booking accessible transportation within program. The revenue generated from these contract participants will be utilized to expand the fleet of accessible vehicles in Detroit. With MUVE's donation back into the fund; the elderly population, those disabled, and veterans will utilize significant discounts or free trips for everyday transportation needs as well.

Public excitement was very high within our pilot program in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Accessibility for all; anytime, is something that had never been addressed in that remote area. With our community based app, MUVE users can identify businesses, facilities, entertainment, etc. that cater to those with accessibility needs and MUVE gets you there. They're happy to participate and "tag" locations that promote handicap accessibility inclusion. There are no limits with MUVE.

Describe how you would pilot your idea (1000 characters)

Pilot project implemented rapidly with custom technology module for Detroit and Michigan Central Station built first with maps, events, and independent marketing campaigns. Ford Upfit accessible vehicles ordered, purchased, insured and branded specific to MUVE, Ford, Detroit and Michigan Central Station. Community Liaison hired for the Detroit Area, contract partnerships developed. MUVE Drivers hired, certified and trained. Targeted marketing campaign. Utilize transportation connections already in the area to ensure swift demand-response times when needed. MUVE will replicate a successful initiative in Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula which combines the transportation need with the transportation service. This program focuses on generating revenue from both the public and private sector with an end goal of giving back to those in need.

Describe how you would measure the success of your pilot (1000 characters)

The success of our pilot will be measured by the utilization of our services. We promote inclusion through our Community based app; localized by our custom Detroit Module. Users can opt in to text messages for Detroit event notifications to further initiate inclusion. User interaction will be a large measure of our success. Strategic contracts will also contribute to our successes. With insurance contracts ready to be implemented; under this pilot we would handle only insurance overflow to ensure marketplace fairness and sustainable revenue generation. Our goal is to enhance every aspect of transportation, not compete or take business away from existing companies. One in five Americans has a disability. Only 35% of working aged people with disabilities are employed. We believe this number could be significantly higher with a better accessibility system. MUVE has the proven pilot model to sustain this project. It's helping those that truly need it that will measure our successes.

Sustainability Plan (500 characters)

This idea should be fully sustainable at the pilot end. With strategic contracts in place and projected public interest, this project should be expandable within two years of implementation. Our plan not only generates revenue, but gives back to the community in one of it's strongest areas of need; transportation.

Hi Stephanie Coykendall thanks for submitting your proposal! I am part of the City:One facilitation team. I was wondering if there can be a non-app or MUVE platform option to reach the services (online/website, phone call). I was also wondering if it is possible for MUVE to transport people to other large transportation hubs (such as the Rosa Parks Center near downtown). That way, people can use MUVE as part of their mobility usage.

MUVE will cover and implement the necessary change to ensure a flawless and well collaborated transportation experience, anywhere transportation is needed, including filling the gaps between existing transportation services in the Detroit area.
