Whether it is a single charging station owner who wants to share his charging station with a neighbor or a business looking for a sophisticated access and payment scheme – eCarUp is a simple charging system adaptable to all contexts.

Every EV charging station can be incorporated either via our upgrade kit, software interface or API. All of the charging data are available in real-time to the operator AND user of the charging station. Existing infrastructure is used more economically.

Furthermore, eCarUp allows the integration into a buildings energy management system. Solar optimization, load management functions, and dynamic charging functions allow optimization of the complete energy system. For example, it can be set that the charging station is only activated if the solar panels produce excess energy. The energy mix is therefore greener.

How will your solution benefit residents, workers, or visitors in the Michigan Central Station impact area? (1,000 characters)

The availability of electric car charging stations is a major factor of switching to electric cars. By adding electric vehicle charging stations to the area, the owner can establish an additional source of income and support cleaner transportation. By enabling real estate owners to establish a realistic business model in EV charging, electric mobility with all its benefits will increase: cleaner air, less noise, cheaper fuel, and with the right management system also greener energy.

Insights from previous testing (500 characters)

eCarUp focusses on B2B. Therefore we learned about the specific needs our customers have. For example: Utilities as well as reals estate companies (our main customers) need software interfaces to their existing systems. Therefore we developed various interfaces to the most common software systems. Other features based on customer requests: reservations, solar optimized charging, load management (static and dynamic), etc.

Rough Budget (500 characters)

Calculation for 20 charging Stations: Hardware (charging stations): 20x2000 = 80'000 Personnel smart-me: Planning, training of the future operator, configuration: 5'000 External Services: Electricians (pre-project): between 0 and 50000 (depending on the current fitting of electrical installations) Electrician Installation: 20x250= 5'000

Describe how you would pilot your idea (1000 characters)

1.) Pre Project: Contact real estate owner, architect, real estate manager, utility, city (for regulation) Questions: Who will be operating the charging stations? Where is the best place to place charging stations? What is the projected growth of electric mobility? Whats the current state of electrical fitting? - Contribution eCarUp: Planning and preparing meeting, outlining agreements that will need to be made 2.) Project: Select station, possibly add interface for future operator of the stations, install station, configure station - Contributions by challenge, eCarUp, operator, electrician and architect 3.) Run station: market station, bill station Operator of the station

Describe how you would measure the success of your pilot (1000 characters)

Number of chargings on the charging station

Sustainability Plan (500 characters)

Yes! All our stations are sustainable! Our largest reference customer in Switzerland runs about 160 stations, earns $20.- per month and station and needs about one workday per year for the management of these stations.

Hi Martina Hickethier thanks for submitting your proposal! I am part of the facilitation team for City:One. In the MCS impact zone, how would you go about finding homes and businesses with charging stations? There might be a need for installing charging stations in the area. If so, who would own it?
