We at Mobycy, are solving micro mobility for billions of commuters in India with e-scooter sharing app, we have over 300k users. Our mission is to solve <4km commute by reducing cars on roads in a sustainable way.


We have placed app based Smart e-scooters where a user can locate our custom "Made-in-India" Zypp e-scooters on the app, unlock by simply scanning QR Code, ride and then park them at the destinations to end their ride. All this is managed by in-house IOT, GPS Enabled Smart key-less locks.


How will your solution benefit residents, workers, or visitors in the Michigan Central Station impact area? (1,000 characters)

Mobycy’s IOT tech enabled electric scooters (called as Zypp) are custom designed providing short & long rentals to solve all the problems highlighted. Users leverage Mobycy’s App to unlock scooters by scanning QR on their keyless scooters and end their rides at the click of a button at Mobycy Parking hubs. The current market opportunity is increasing with the “Smart City” concept: public transport networks are being built, logistics and delivery segments are expanding, etc. Today, 66% daily trips in cities are less than 5 kilometers. This is the primary target market for Mobycy and translates to an addressable market size of around USD 5.2 Bn. The company has focused on making the Zypp e-scooters keyless as well as monitoring them through technology. The tech stack includes IOT GPS telematics fitted in the scooters which allows constant tracking via GPS

Overall team size currently stands at 44 + 23 gig-workers are working in Operations Company has created a cluster level expansion model where each cluster is based on a hub & spoke model which includes one or two metro stations, several offices and key townships. Each cluster usually has 200 e-scooters and are managed by 1 cluster lead and team. With the focus on electric scooters in last 4 quarters, the revenues are growing at a 30% run rate month on month with more than 500 e-scooters.

Company has created a cluster level expansion model where each cluster is based on a hub & spoke model which includes one or two metro stations, several offices and key townships. Each cluster usually has 200 e-scooters and are managed by 1 cluster lead, 1 redeployment vehicle, 1 driver, 1 helper, 2 maintenance & charging guys, 1 Rapid Response executive and few promoters who are needed in initial months to setup the market. Company has created an expansion toolkit and has identified 10 clusters where they’ll be expanding in next 6-9 months with 1800 scooters and balance 1200 will be placed on B2B business models where operations costly is very low restricted to 1 shared maintenance resource. Would like to work closely with the government and mayor to find best possible solution for solving mobility in a sustainable way.

Sustainability Plan (500 characters)

Company has built a B2B model too to serve delivery companies where there’s a good demand to go electric. This is helping mitigate funding risks by having a steady revenue stream there with campuses, delivery companies to give scooters on fixed rentals. Further, B2G contracts, working exclusively with smart cities will help get public parking spaces exclusively for a specified period of time which will help build regular revenues and ensure company can establish itself.

Akash Gupta Thank you for sharing this proposal and congratulations on the success of this company! I would love to know more about how you envision this company providing services in Detroit. In the pilot section of the proposal, you mentioned that 'Company has created an expansion toolkit and has identified 10 clusters where they’ll be expanding in next 6-9 months...' . Is this expansion referencing Detroit or another city? Also, do you have any information about what the cost comparison between car, scooter, taxi, ride sharing, etc. would look like in Detroit? What are some of the other differences that you anticipate when implementing this service in Detroit vs. India? Thank you again for the information, and I am excited to learn more!
