There is an opportunity to show how a diverse force of hardworking humans come together to meet and conquor the challenges and rewards of community through cars and coffee, born right here in Detroit. Detroit Bold is THE "Awesome Style Coffee For Hardworking Humans Everywhere." roasted 3 blocks away from H.Ford's Model T assemblyline plant in Highland Park.

How will your solution benefit residents, workers, or visitors in the Michigan Central Station impact area? (1,000 characters)

Immediate impact comes with a well known product that got its start by "bailing out the American Automobile industry, one cup of coffee at a time," in 2009 when the coffee was born. We held the "Assembly Line Concert, a 288 hour non-stop concert that achieved a Guinness World Record and brought us global recognition. Our experience in running an interactive music café with excellent coffee and vegan options of food and fare made us a town favorite in Ferndale for years. What's more , opportunities exist in developing cars with automated coffee brewers built in. Who knows, The Detroit Bold car from Ford is not far away! That could be developed in cooperation with people at the Central Station and Ford. We are currently sold at Henry Ford Village and many other Ford locations.

Describe your solution's stage of development

  • Initial Design - you are still exploring the idea and have not tested it with users

Insights from previous testing (500 characters)

When we first approached the idea and developed the design, we found that a built-in consul model with removable water reservoir was the best option for cleaning, filling and maintenance. The electrical system can be tied into existing electrical designs and the ease of use was maximized. Interior design is rugged and appealing with warm coffee themed colors and scents.

Rough Budget (500 characters)

We will use 1/2 of the funds to develop the cafe space and the remaining to develope a fully functioning Detroit Bold Mobile with on board coffee capabilities

Describe how you would pilot your idea (1000 characters)

Imagine driving past long lines at the coffee drive-through while placing your cup under the on board coffee maker in the beautifully designed Detroit BOLD vehicle. You are a mere 30-45 seconds away from the perfect cup of coffee, fresh brewed in your vehicle. Our name and branding will be incorporated into the Ford lineup of excellece. Options for electric and top tier emissions standards will be developed with the cooperation and assistance from Ford. Detroit is loved all over the world ! We will be the global comeback kid for years to come. While cars have adopted geographical names before, there is no prescedent for the Detroit BOLD.

Describe how you would measure the success of your pilot (1000 characters)

The success of the pilot will have immediate impact when people see the ease with which they can brew delicious coffee from their car, safetly and easily. The car itself is stunning and the coffee is the apex. Once seen and enjoyed locally, we will produce these cars en masse

Sustainability Plan (500 characters)

Pre-sales on prototypes will show that this car will have wide appeal. Future designs for retrofitting existing cars with the coffee brewer are feasible as well. The financing will be accomplished with sales of cars and brewers, all we we pay the bills for the cafe with coffee and goods sales.
