SKOOP builds ADTech for urban mobility. SKOOP provides mobility companies with the hardware and software they need to sell digital advertising on billboards attached to their moving rideshare vehicles. SKOOP is working to expand its national network of moving digital billboards. As the network grows commuters in more cities have free transit options and businesses can target commuters with important marketing messages in more markets. SKOOP has had a lot of exciting traction recently.

You can learn more about SKOOP from our website or by checking out some recent press. In a little less than 12 months we have expanded into 3 markets: East Lansing, Royal Oak, and two cities on the Jersey Shore. We are excited to begin releasing and promoting our ADTech software platform now.

Currently, the Founder of SKOOP, Josh, is looking to gather market research and industry insight to help scale and guide SKOOP into new cities.

Cheers!

Describe who will use your solution (1,000 characters)

SKOOP is working to rethink urban mobility. Our team has launched fleets in cities across the country. Because of this, we don't need to spend pilot time building or constructing. Pilot time would be used for on the ground testing and gathering consumer feedback. We can quickly launch a 5-10 cab fleet and move 50,000 people per month. Thanks to the power of the digital screens on our vehicles. We can leverage the power of digital advertising to offset the cost of the rides for passengers. SKOOP has brought the digital advertising business model to the physical world. Thanks to businesses like Facebook, Youtube, Google, consumers are familiar with the idea of not having to pay to access the platform, with the power of digital advertising. The majority of the preparation for the pilot would come from securing those advertising partnerships, while the actual pilot period would consist of constantly moving passengers from point A to B for free.

Describe your solution's stage of development

  • Initial Design - you are still exploring the idea and have not tested it with users
  • Prototype - you have built a prototype and tested it with potential users
  • Pilot - you have implemented your solution in a real-world scenario
  • Ready to Scale - you have completed and expanded your pilot and are seeing adoption of your solution by your intended user

Describe how you would measure the success of your pilot (1000 characters)

Efficiency and being lean are what we strive for. We simply measure success by looking at how many passengers we move per week. We then take that number and look at the number of miles we moved those passengers. Once we have those two numbers we can quantify the monetary value of free rides that we gave. We then look at the customer acquisition cost that went into obtaining new advertising partners. We calculate to make sure that the efforts on the advertising end and the money coming in from that end, is high enough to cover our operating expense. As long as we are able to bring in more advertising dollars than it takes for us to run our opperations then we are operating successfully. This is something we have been able to do consistently in the three markets we launched this year.

Sustainability Plan (500 characters)

My favorite part about the SKOOP business model is that we can be profitable before we even begin the pilot period. We have the ability to pre-sell adverting space to local and national partners before our fleets hit the ground. Because most of our contract are 6-12 months long, our sales reps are able to set up a residual income for the business quickly. This allows us to focus more on improving our urban transportation efforts.
