When used in public transport networks TrustID enhances:

  1. Safety: Travelers are able to securely store important medical information on TrustID which can only be externally accessed by pre-authorized personnel such as EMTs and other emergency services staff. 

  1. Data analytics: Transportation staff are able to gather more precise data sets on their travelers. This includes: 

-Who is traveling


-For how long

-How often 

This data is then used to inform public transport policy to better suit the needs of the travelers. 

Given TrustID is built on the EOS blockchain, commuters have complete control over their data and therefore can either restrict access or grant it to third parties. TrustID has no control or insight into any data whatsoever because the system is totally decentralized and TrustID does not hold the private keys of the individuals. 


  1. Facilitates the creation of greener cities: One of the most prevalent parts of the TrustID system is the emphasis on a user’s eco-score.

Conceptually similar to a credit score, a user’s eco-score is increased when undertaking certain environmentally friendly behavior. For example, connecting one’s household smart meter to their TrustID account will mean that they will increase their eco-score should they decrease their household’s energy consumption. 

Using public transport instead of cars is an activity that increases their eco-score and this is achieved by connecting one’s travel card to their TrustID account. Their eco-score is then increased when they top-up their travel cards. 

Users are then rewarded for achieving and maintaining high scores with benefits such as lower banking fees and exclusive discounts at retailers. Our growing network of partners, all of whom are keen to fight climate change, make this possible. 


TrustID is also built on the EOS blockchain and therefore not only gives greater control to the user over their data but optimized data security and management. Built upon the EOS blockchain, the platform facilitates both the verification and cryptographic storage of personal information, including, but not restricted to academic credentials, nationality, and medical information such as blood type.

The system comprises two main components, an app (as seen to the right), through which users both verify and securely store information such as identity credentials and medical history; and a business-facing platform that is granted access to very specific data (all determined by the user). All of which is completely inaccessible to TrustID given the decentralized nature of the platform. 

Additionally, TrustID's Eco-scoring initiative is used to verify and reward environmentally-friendly activity undertaken by users. Through activities such as taking public transport instead of cars, recycling, or reducing household power consumption, users increase their eco-score. The greater a user's eco-score, the greater their rewards, for example, reduced banking fees and exclusive deals at major retailers can be accessed by a user having a higher eco-score.

Describe who will use your solution (1,000 characters)

An example of the safety feature working within the context of public transport would be such that: A medical emergency occurs within the transport network. The injured user/a fellow commuter selects the travel credential on the TrustID app and requests help. Staff are then immediately able to locate the individual through the TrustID system and thereby expedite emergency services arriving on the scene. When emergency services arrive, they are instantly able to access the passenger’s verified medical records through TrustID and thereby gain crucial time in which to help the individual. This is, of course, in addition to the eco-score points accrued by travelers on the network and enhanced data on commuters.

Describe how you would pilot your idea (1000 characters)

Stage 1. Set up an admin database and console Public transport management is set up with a commuter database and console through which they can monitor activity. Stage 2. Initial beta testing Safety systems are tested throughout the transport network as well as data points received from commuter activity. Stage 3. Onboard most at-risk travelers Elderly, disabled, and other at-risk commuters are first offered the system to reduce risks incurred by them throughout the transport network. Stage 4. Iteration of system Based on the beta testing and roll out with at-risk travelers, the system is iterated and optimized. Stage 5. Mass onboarding campaign The onboarding campaign gets underway which targets all users of the transport system and beyond (given rewards of using public transport from eco-score accruement). Stage 6. Expansion into other locations and networks Expansion plans can get underway to offer the system statewide and in neighboring metropolitan areas.

Describe how you would measure the success of your pilot (1000 characters)

Success would be measured by the reduction in response time for EMTs and other first responders who are not only rapidly given information on the passenger in question but also of their whereabouts within the network. Additionally, the generation of data points on passengers would serve to enhance the public transport policy and the eco-score incentives would encourage more people to use public transport over less environmentally friendly alternatives.

Sustainability Plan (500 characters)

Given TrustID has been externally funded and has a sustainable monetization strategy that aggregates income across many industries and sectors, there is no need to receive any funding except for specific deployment expenses. Our current revenue model is such that every time a business queries the TrustID network on EOS, they utilize TrustID’s proprietary API.
