We really need this in Austin. You do not always need an ambulance but do need specialized transport. Many people would rather die than call an ambulance here due to the outrageous expense of such a service. Ambulances help with true emergencies and we are all grateful to have them then but too often they are now simply used as cabs with many simply transferring a patient from a hospital to a rehabilitation facility or from one's home to the hospital when a serious but non-life-threatening situation arises.
