Streetlights along I35 and Mopac are burned out. Get them all working. Debris on the roadways causes collisions. Actively patrol the roadway and clear any debris. I have seen things sit on the roadway for more than a week including along 183. When there is an accident, do everything possible to keep the lanes around it open and flowing. that means a quick response to move vehicles (and debris) off the road. perhaps some wreckers need sirens/flashing lights to respond quickly. Do not ever block an entire roadway for hours. Austin does this way too much. someone is run over crossing I35 and they close the whole freeway. this is not acceptable. if you need to block a lane to take some measurements that's fine but get it back open.. Make it a goal that no lane will be shut down more than 20 minutes. take advantage of using paint on roadways to let driver's know the speed limit or upcoming lane changes or mergers etc. Most of the signs are overhead and sometimes confusing. The toll lanes are too expensive.. they need to be cheaper to encourage drivers to use them but at the same time a toll violator should not be able to renew their registration each year and lists of violators should be published so the public can turn them in and get the cars impounded.
