Full description

The use of incentives should be applied to more efficient modes of transportation. An example of this would be the issuing of credits to purchase a bicycle. People provided an incentive to purchase a bike will not have the excuse to being able to afford a healthy and efficient mode of commuting. Incentivizing a healthy activity like riding a bike not only enhances the health of a person but it can reduce traffic if more people are on bikes.

Hey Micheal! I'm a facilitator with the City:One Challenge Austin!

Thank you for contributing to the Explore phase of the challenge, your idea is helping us broaden the conversation around transportation alternatives for our city. Can you give more examples that may deter one from choosing to cycle to work? What are some other ways to spread the word about this healthy transportation alternative?

Thank you Micheal!
